Self Care for Birth Workers

$49.99

Being a birth worker is about more than doing and job and going home. Those who have been called to this work give their all… and then some. It’s a physically and emotionally taxing profession and it’s no wonder the burnout rate for doulas and birth workers is approximately 2 years.

HOW QUICKLY WOULD THAT BURNOUT RATE DIMINISH IF BIRTH WORKERS CREATED SUSTAINABLE PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL PRACTICES THAT ALLOWED FOR LONGEVITY, BALANCE, AND A VIBRANT CAREER?

The better you care for yourself the better you’ll be able to care for your clients & community.

THIS 90 MINUTE WORKSHOP INCLUDES:

  • Assessment of personal self-care practices & professional boundaries

  • Addressing compassion fatigue

  • Finding sustainable self-care opportunities

  • Establishing business practices that ease your mental load

  • Practical application for birth & postpartum work

  • Reflection exercises to take action after the workshop

About the presenter:

Lauren Jacobs Foster is the owner of 3 doula agencies in California and Michigan. Her introduction to the birth world began in 2008 when she was pursuing her yoga teacher certificate. This led her to becoming a prenatal yoga instructor and birth doula. Over the years she has since added postpartum doula, sleep coach, certified childbirth educator, and placenta encapsulation specialist to her offerings. Through the course of her career she has become dangerously close to burning out and giving up several times. It was in these experiences that she discovered the crucial need for self-care in this line of work and became passionate about mentoring new doulas and helping birth workers grow personally and professionally.
